The tournament was held at the University of Arizona in Tucson, February 23rd through 25th. Twenty-eight students, from ten schools (NAU, NMSU, NMT, PCC, SCC, UA, UCCS, UVSC, UW, and WSU) entered the 9-ball tournament.
Auxiliary Services sponsored the top players of the NMT qualifying tournament the Billy Aardd's Club conducted last November. For the women: Elizabeth Ball, and Trista Sloan. For the men: Jeremiah Gage, Nick Tarasnko, Will Thomson, Larry Padilla, Lloyd Carothers, and Chris Cruz.
Each division plays a round robin to determine who advances to the single elimination portion of the tournament.
There were 948 games for the tournament. Round robin play had 783 games (295 in the women's division, and 488 in the men's division). Single elimination had 165 games (39 in the women's division, and 126 in the men's division).
