Tournament Rules and Regulations, the house BCA General Rules of Pocket Billiards, and the BCA 9-ball rules will apply to this tournament.
Tournament will start Sunday morning (Nov. 22) at 10:00. Format will be single elimination using races to three. Sign-up closes when tournament starts. There will be pizza as lunch for participants.
This tournament is restricted to students in good standing, willing and able to go to the regional event. This time around the ACUI Region I, Recreational Tournament (2015) will be held at the "T.B.A." in (tba-site), February ?? and ?? (Fri, Sat).
Monetary Considerations:
Normally all costs associated with the regional tournament (no costs for our local qualifier) and trip must be covered by each player (suggestion -- each participant should check with the SA to see what the SA may be able to cover on a per-student-basis {please note this is not a club outing, The Billy Aardd's Club is just helping out by running the qualifier}).
Last year ACUI charged an entry fee of $75.00 per participant. At the moment this is a participant cost. (Other costs would be travel, lodging, and food.)
There will be a Men's Division and a Women's Division (no further breakdowns in either division). We are currently figuring the top three finishers, in each division, will qualify to go to the ACUI regional tournament this coming Spring.
See History of ACUI at Tech for info about previous outings.
The ACUI Recreational tournaments usually also host events in Chess, Poker, Table Tennis as well as the standards like Poetry Slam, and College Bowl. For information on these and other events check the ACUI Collegiate Recreation and Leisure Activities Sectional Recreation web page. Also ask the appropriate NMT club if they plan on holding a qualifier for interested students.
Here are the brackets and schedule for the NMT Fall 2015 9-ball Qualifier.
