3 CUSHION   TOURNAMENT

2014 - February 10 through April 17.
Week-nights, 5:00 to 9:00

Sponsored by
N.M.I.M.T.
Billy Aardd's Club,
and the Game Room.

This tournament is open to NMT students, faculty, staff, and alumni.   This tournament may be handicapped if cross-division play is required (unhandicapped within division).

Tournament Rules and Regulations, and the rules on 3 Cushion Billiards, will apply to this tournament.

The Round Robin matches will be best two of three games, each game to ten points or 25-innings (equal innings if called on innings).   Single Elimination matches will best two of three games, each game to twelve points or 30-innings (equal innings if called on innings).

The match should start at the scheduled time and date.   At the scheduled start time each player will be allowed 5-minutes of warm-up.   (So figure another 12 to 15 minutes to the match time for this.)

An optional break, not to exceed fifteen minutes, will be allowed between games two and three.

There must be at least 6 contestants for a division to run.   Each division will be limited to 12 players.   If there are more than 12 entries the Tournament Director (TD) will take those signed up first (the remaining entries may start as an alternate if a starter doesn't start their first match).

If divisions are merged: a "B" player playing an "A" player would only need 8 points to win in a game to 12; a "C" player would only need 5 points against an "A" player  ("C" starts at 7 and "B" starts at 4).

TOURNAMENT RULES

Participants are expected to know the rules for carom billiards, the general rules of billiards, and the rules and regulations governing tournament play.   The player chair rule will be enforced.   During a match the referee will be the only person allowed to handle the balls.

Entry deadline Monday February 18 at 6:30pm.   The schedule for the tournament will be posted shortly thereafter.

Choice of opening shot for the set will be established by lag before the first game.   Subsequent games of the set will alternate opening shot.

Additional details about these tournaments may be found at the Tournament Board in the student center game room.   If you have questions about the tournaments you can ask our Tournament Director (TD), Ray Piworunas.
