ACUI 9-Ball Qualifier
November 4 through 10, 2013.

Sponsored by
N.M.I.M.T.
Billy Aardd's Club,
and the Game Room.

Entry Deadline   Friday, November 1, at 6:30 pm.

Tournament Rules and Regulations, the house BCA General Rules of Pocket Billiards, and the BCA 9-ball rules will apply to this tournament.

Play would be weeknights and weekends as needed.   If possible all play will be done on Saturday (9) and Sunday (10).

This tournament is restricted to students in good standing, willing and able to go to the regional event.   This time around the ACUI Region 13, Recreational Tournament (2014) will be held at the "T.B.A." in (tba-site), February ?? and ?? (Fri, Sat).

Signup sheet will be in the gameroom.   Here is the NMT ACUI 9-ball Qualifier page showing the player list and the various brackets for the tournament.

Monetary Considerations:

Normally all costs associated with the regional tournament (no costs for our local qualifier) and trip must be covered by each player (suggestion -- each participant should check with the SA to see what the SA may be able to cover on a per-student-basis {please note this is not a club outing, The Billy Aardd's Club is just helping out by running the qualifier}).

ACUI is charging one entry fee ($75.00) per participant.   At the moment this is a participant cost.   (Other costs would be travel, lodging, and food.)

There will be a Men's Division and a Women's Division (no further breakdowns in either division).   We are currently figuring the top three finishers, in each division, will qualify to go to the ACUI regional tournament this coming Spring.

See History of ACUI at Tech for info about previous outings.

The format will depend on the number of entrants.   BCA rules for 9-ball will be used.   Time permitting, each non-finals match will be at least best of 7, and the championship match will be at least best of 9.

For more information on this tournament, (and the ACUI Regional and ACUI International tournaments) please check the BAC Tournament board in the student center game room.

The ACUI Recreational tournaments usually also host events in Chess, Poker, Table Tennis as well as the standards like Poetry Slam, and College Bowl.   For information on these and other events at the ACUI Region 13 Recreational Tournament check the 2014 Recreational Tournaments web page. Also ask the appropriate NMT club if they plan on holding a qualifier for interested students.
