ACUI 9-Ball Qualifier
January 28 through 29.

and the Game Room.

Tournament Rules and Regulations, the house BCA General Rules of Pocket Billiards, and the BCA 9-ball rules will apply to this tournament.

Play would be weeknights and weekends as needed.   If possible all play will be done on Saturday (28) and Sunday (29).

This tournament is restricted to students in good standing, willing and able to go to the regional event in February.   This time around the regional will be held at the "University of Colorado - Colorado Springs", February 10-12 (Fri-Sun).   (For driving we'd likely leave early evening the 9th and get back late on the 12th.)

ENTRY DEADLINE is tournament day at 8:30am.   Signup sheet is in the gameroom.

Monetary Considerations:

At the moment it looks like there is $400.00 towards funding for two hotel rooms for two nights.   All costs associated with the tournament and trip must be covered by each player (suggestion -- each participant should check with the SA to see what they may be able to cover on a per-student-basis {as this is not a club outing, we're just running the qualifier}).

ACUI is charging one entry fee ($75.00) per participant.   At the moment this is a participant cost.

There will be a Men's Division and a Women's Division (no further breakdowns in either division).   We are currently figuring the top three finishers, in each division, will qualify to go to the ACUI regional tournament in Colorado Springs this coming Spring.

See History of ACUI at Tech for info about previous outings.

The format will depend on the number of entrants.   BCA rules for 9-ball will be used.   Each non-finals match will be at least best of 7.   The championship match will be at least best of 9.

For more information on this tournament, (and the ACUI Regional and ACUI International tournaments) please check the BAC Tournament board in the student center game room.

For information on other events at the ACUI Region 13 Recreational Tournament (like: Table tennis, Poetry Slam, and College Bowl) check the 2012 Recreation Tournaments web page and ask the appropriate NMT club if they plan on holding a qualifier for interested students.

Here are the brackets and schedule for the NMT Spring 2012 Qualifier.
