Tournament Rules and Regulations, the house BCA General Rules of Pocket Billiards, and the BCA 9-ball rules will apply to this tournament.
Play would be weeknights and weekends as needed. If possible all play will be done on Saturday (10) and Sunday (11).
This tournament is restricted to students in good standing, willing and able to go to the regional event. This time around the ACUI Region 13, Recreational Tournament (2013) will be held at the "University of Utah" in Salt Lake City, February 1 and 2 (Fri, Sat). (For driving we'd likely leave late afternoon Thursday January 31st and get back late on Sunday February 3rd.)
ENTRY DEADLINE has been extended to Wednesday November 7 at 6:30pm due to this Friday's closure of the game room. Signup sheet will be in the gameroom. Here is the NMT ACUI 9-ball Qualifier page showing the player list and the various brackets for the tournament.
Monetary Considerations:
Normally all costs associated with the tournament and trip must be covered by each player (suggestion -- each participant should check with the SA to see what they may be able to cover on a per-student-basis {as this is not a club outing, The Billy Aardd's Club is just helping out by running the qualifier}). At the moment, aside from possible S.A. funding, it looks likely there will be $500.00 towards funding for lodging.
There will be a Men's Division and a Women's Division (no further breakdowns in either division). We are currently figuring the top three finishers, in each division, will qualify to go to the ACUI regional tournament this coming Spring.

The format will depend on the number of entrants. BCA rules for 9-ball will be used. Time permitting, each non-finals match will be at least best of 7, and the championship match will be at least best of 9.

This year the recreational tournament will have competition in 9-ball and table tennis. For information on these and other events at the ACUI Region 13 Recreational Tournament check the 2013 Recreational Tournaments web page. Also ask the appropriate NMT club if they plan on holding a qualifier for interested students.
