Time permitting, the tournament will be a Round Robin followed by a Single Elimination amongst the top four players (for each division). The Round Robin games will be to thirty points. Single Elimination games will be to forty points. There will not be a time limit on any match.

Tournament Rules and Regulations, and the rules on Balkline Billiards, will apply to this tournament.

This tournament is open to NMT students, faculty, staff, and affiliates.

The entry deposit (refundable to players who didn't forfeit any matches) is $5.00, and is due at time of sign-up.

Prize Money
  A-division B-division C-division
First $25.00 $25.00 $25.00
Second $15.00 $15.00 $15.00
Third $10.00 $10.00 $10.00

There must be at least 6 entries for a division to run. Each division will be limited to 16 players. If there are more than 16 entries the Tournament Director (TD) will take those signed up first (the remaining entries may start as an alternate if a starter doesn't start their first match).

If divisions are merged: a "B" player playing an "A" player would only need 35 points to win in a game to 50; a "C" player would only need 25 points against an "A" player; "C" playing "B" would need 20 points in a game to 35).

TOURNAMENT RULES

Participants are expected to know the rules for carom billiards, the general rules of billiards, and the rules and regulations governing tournament play. The player chair rule will be enforced. During a match the referee will be the only person allowed to handle the balls.

Signup will close Monday September 18 at 5:30pm. The schedule for the tournament will be posted shortly thereafter.

Choice of break for each set will be established by lag.

Additional details about these tournaments may be found at the Tournament Board in the Fidel Student Services game room. If you have questions about the tournaments you can ask our Tournament Director (TD), Ray Piworunas (email: ray@mailhost.nmt.edu).
