Time permitting, the tournament will be a Round Robin followed by a Single Elimination amongst the top four players (for each division). The Round Robin matches will be best two of three games, each game to eight points or 30-minutes (equal innings if called on time). Single Elimination matches will best two of three games, each game to ten points or 40-minutes (equal innings if called on time).

Tournament Rules and Regulations, and the rules on 3 Cushion Billiards, will apply to this tournament.

Entry Fees and Prize Money

Entry Fees No TECH ID $ 10.00 -N/A- -N/A-
Non-student TECH ID $ 6.00 $ 4.50 $ 3.00
Tech Student ID $ 4.00 $ 3.00 $ 1.50

Pay Offs First (45% or Min.) $25.00 $25.00 $25.00
Second (25% or Min.) $15.00 $15.00 $15.00
Third (15% or Min.) $10.00 $10.00 $10.00

There must be at least 6 entries for a division to run. Each division will be limited to 16 players. If there are more than 16 entries the Tournament Director (TD) will take those signed up first (the remaining entries may start as an alternate if a starter doesn't start their first match).

If divisions are merged to get enough players for the tournament to run there will be no increase in entry fees (i.e. a "B" player only needs to pay a "B" entry fee even if playing in "A"). Also (if divisions are merged), a "B" player playing an "A" player would only need 6 points to win in a game to 8 (a "C" player would only need 4 points against an "A" player -- "C" playing "B" would need 4 points in a game to 6).

TOURNAMENT RULES

Participants are expected to know the rules for carom billiards, the general rules of billiards, and the rules and regulations governing tournament play. The player chair rule will be enforced. During a match the referee will be the only person allowed to handle the balls.

Signup will close Monday September 30 at 5:30pm. The schedule for the tournament will be posted shortly thereafter.

Choice of break for each set will be established by lag.

Additional details about these tournaments may be found at the Tournament Board in the SUB Gameroom. If you have questions about the tournaments you can ask our Tournament Director (TD), Ray Piworunas (email: ray@mailhost.nmt.edu).
