Spring 1993 Tournaments.

TOURNAMENTS FOR SPRING '93

Below is a preliminary tournament schedule for the spring semester. Tournament dates are fairly stable, as are the games selected. Both are subject to change if good reasons warrant it. Details for each tournament (e.g. entry fees, prize monies) will be posted several weeks before the scheduled tournament date (if not sooner). If you enter any of these tournaments please plan to devote the entire weekend to them. We will need people to help as referees.


FEBRUARY 12th -- 14th.   CUTTHROAT

This tournament will be self-seeding. A minimum of 16 players will be required for this to work. A field of 32 would provide the best schedule. The only other possible fields will be: 20, 24, or 28 players. Details will be posted by Friday, 12 February. Since this tournament is self-seeding there will only be one division. NO ENTRY FEE.


FEBRUARY 22nd thru 26th.   BALKLINE BILLIARDS
(evenings 18:00 - 21:00).

The tournament will be Double Elimination on a match basis. Each match will be best 2 of 3 games. The game will be 18.2 Balkline Billiards. Entry deadline 14:30 Friday 19-feb-93.


FEBRUARY 27th & 28st.   SNOOKER

This tournament will be Double Elimination on a match basis. Each match will be the best 2 of 3 games. The game will be American Snooker (unless we can find rules for English snooker!). Entry deadline 14:30 Thursday 25-feb-93.


MARCH 25th -- 27th.   ONE POCKET

The tournament format will either be one division at Triple Elimination, or two divisions at Double Elimination depending on the number of entries and player preference. Each match will be best 3 of 5 games.


APRIL 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, & 25.   Billiard-Snooker-Straight

This tournament will be Double Elimination on a match basis. Each match will be the best 2 of 3 sets. The first set will be Progressive Redball to 35-points (0/1 call on first shot, 20-0 shutout). The second set will be best 2 of 3 games of snooker. The third set (if needed) will be 14.1 Continuous (Straight) Pocket Pool {non-handicapped}.
