A Handicapped Straight (14.1 Continuous) Tournament, double elimination, will be Starting the 2nd week of March. To enter this tournament one must have played at least 8 matches in the Billy Aardd's Club Handicapped Straight Ladder prior to the start of the tournament in order to establish a handicap for the tournament. (A minimum of 8 matches is required, however 10 matches is preferred since this will give a better career LBPI to base the handicaps upon. Note - that if the player has only played 8 matches before tournament their 2nd highest and 2nd lowest matches will be added in twice in to provide 10 matches to derive a career LBPI from).
The prize money shown below is based on 30 or more entries. It will be scaled down for less entries. The complete list can be found in the SUB gameroom.
Qualification deadline: November 20, 1988.
Entry deadline: the end of the first week in March (aproximately). (Check the gameroom as March approaches for a more solid date.)
NOTE:
The entry deadline is the deadline for entry. In
order to QUALIFY FOR THIS TOURNAMENT (since this is a handicapped
tournament -- which is designed to give everyone, within reason, an
equal chance to win any given match) IT IS NESSECARY that each player
have AT LEAST 8 MATCHES OF LADDER PLAY RECORDED. This makes for a
qualification deadline (i.e. joining the Ladder deadline) of
November 20, 1988. This deadline is based on one match played
per week (which is the maximum for a new player the first five weeks on
the Ladder). Talk to a Ladder player, or the Ladder Director
(Bill Grother) for more information about the Ladder.
For more information on the Tournament stop by the gameroom, or contact Ray Piworunas at Workman 7, or -5584.
