Before sending in a match be sure to do the following:
Before disturbing the final lay of the balls -- do a re-tally of the sheet, paying close attention that penalties like fouls (F, SF), and scratches (C, SC) have been deducted when they occur. Keep in mind that a bad opening break (BB) is a two-point penalty, and that major fouls are set at 20% of what a player needs to win the game as of the beginning of the match (so starting at 0 has a 15-pt major, while starting a -102 would have a 36-pt major -- fractions being rounded up here).
If it turns out the match is not finished then continue to play it out.
Be sure both the START and END times are on the sheet. This will help in keeping track of match times. We are trying to stay in the 2-hour range, give or take half-an-hour. If we are getting too far away from that then changes to the winning score will need to be made.
The duration of the match is also used in generating some of the statistics.
Once a match has been completed be sure the completed score sheet is placed in the folder (at Slatestreet Billiards) with the blank score sheets. It is the official record of the match and will be picked up later (so it can be filed away).
Please email a clear (e.g. good-resolution) copy of the score sheet (both sides if play goes that far) to the Ladder Director. This will help in getting the match results into the computer in a timely way so generation of the next round isn't delayed.
All the above makes things run smoother. THANKS.
