Tournament Overview

This tournament is offered as a fun diversion.  It will be held at Slate Street in Rio Rancho.

The following rules will be used for this tournament.

A Modified Single Elimination (MSE) format will be used.  This gives players at least two matches; unless they have a first round BYE.  Players losing their first round match will get another shot by being placed on the other side of the bracket for their second round match.

The November 2023 14.1 League tournament is an example of a Modified Single Elimination (MSE) format.

Each match will be a race to two sets.

First break of each set will be determined by lag.

Breaker of subsequent games in each set will be
choice of person losing previous game.

If we are not in a time crunch when we get to the semi-final and final matches the number of games in each race (7, 9, 10) may be increased.

Doors will open at 9:00am.  Players must be registered and should have their entry fee paid by 10:00am to be in the tournament.  This tournament is limited to 64 players (see Signing Up).

Around 9:30 we will take questions.

It's guesstimated matches will come in at around 40 to 60 minutes.

Reminders

Some reminders are in order before the tournament begins (some may need to be repeated as it's going along too).

Entry Fee and Donations

The entry fee is $50.  The player entry fee needs to be paid before matches start in order to be in the tournament.

Donations will be accepted towards specific prizes, or to increase the place money (1st,  2nd,  ...).
