Symbol Meaning
| A half-height vertical mark (by hand) for each ball legally sunk.
/ Marks an end of inning.
. or : End of rack  ('.' one ball on last stroke, ':' two or more balls on last stroke).
BB Marks a break violation  (bad break) -- 2-point penalty on any opening break.
C A scratch (1-point penalty).
F A foul (1-point penalty).
